How home staging highlights builders’ work

When I first saw the last property that I had the privilege to improve for selling, I thought to myself: what a lovely place to live in. A beautiful 6-bedroom house with a spacious floor plan and a gorgeous backyard, located in the highly desirable North Los Altos neighborhood, the heart of the Silicone Valley. A great place to call home. I can easily see this even between the empty walls, because I am a professional in this field, but ordinary buyers cannot appreciate the potential of a property so easily. They simply need our help.

After all, that's what stagers do – we create an interior environment to sell a property by increasing its appeal to any buyer in the market. We beautify the place, setting the mood and the vibe, selecting the appropriate furniture and using the space as effectively as possible.

To answer the question why home staging is so effective, we first need to clarify a few other topics. Namely - what are buyers looking for and what does the region of Los Altos offer? Why would builders use the services of home stagers? How professionals with completely different qualifications and jobs share the same goal, offering luxurious and beautifully furnished properties, making the local real estate market thrive?

What do buyers need?
Searching for the right home is a complex process, especially in booming construction areas like Los Altos. It is indeed one of the best places to live in California. Its desirable location in the heart of Silicon Valley. Can have higher land prices compared to other areas.

Everything depends on the preliminary research and planning and, of course, the correct understanding the construction costs involved. But the advantage of living in a home, built for you, is absolutely great. Experienced construction companies in the region enable buyers to adapt a living space to their personal needs, priorities, lifestyle, preparing projects entirely to their taste. Let's look from the other side of the barricade - through the eyes of the builders themselves. How can construction companies guarantee maximum return on their investment and sell properties quickly and at high prices? Here we go, naturally getting to the second topic:

Why builders use the services of home stagers?
Home staging enhances the positive aspects of the house or an apartment and disguises the less attractive by suggesting how space can be used in the most effective and wise way. It actually highlights builders’ work.

We are not talking about some sinister conspiracy between builders and stagers to mislead or defraud future owners in some way. Not at all. We are talking about the job of professionals that enables buyers to see the potential of a property, imagine their life in it and appreciate its advantages. Few could imagine the comfort and practicality of an empty property without any furniture or accessories in it. That is the reason why houses sell 3 to 5 times faster with home staging.

Imagine what a waste it would be to present this gorgeous property I mentioned above unfurnished. Fabulous white oak flooring, high-end finishes, crisp white millwork, spacious rooms - wonderful, but without the comfort and the coziness of the light sofa, the gorgeous tables and chairs, the wall decoration and so on, the place would just look desolate and sterile. Without any “soul” and welcoming vibe.

Why is home staging working so well?
Because people don't buy bare walls, they buy a home. They don't buy a good location, they buy coziness. Studies show that most property sales are made based on emotional choices. And there's nothing wrong with that, that's just human nature. People need to feel a place like their home in order to invest a large sum in it. Stagers help them make this choice easily, turning newly built properties into comfortably furnished, welcoming and beautiful places to live.

Detail orientated attitude towards interiors really helps me deal with this important task. For example, just by adding a beautiful light wood fence in front of the central entrance of the house, the builders were able to bring a classic charm to the property.

Overall, the interior combines the classic vibes of a country house and some modern elegance. The mixture between light wood and furniture in white and neutral tones such as beige and grey, creates a clean and airy ambiance.

Providing multiple areas to host gatherings both indoors and in the spacy backyard further contributed to creating a warm feeling of family coziness and friendliness.

And this is how with joint efforts and the expertise of high-quality construction companies and professional home stagers, the ultimate goal is again achieved. And it is always one and the same – to turn an empty house into an appeal to the senses. To breathe life into a place, making it feel and look like home.
